From April 22 to April 23, 2021, a meeting of the EEC Council was held at which decisions were made regarding issues of labeling and traceability of goods by means of identification (hereinafter referred to as “Solutions"):
- Decision No. 41 “On uniform mechanisms of cryptographic protection when marking goods by means of identification in the Eurasian Economic Union”;
- Decision No. 42 “On the action plan for the creation, operation and development of the integrated information system of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2021”;
- Decision No. 43 “On the introduction of identification labeling of alcoholic products”;
- Decision No. 44 “On the introduction of identification labeling of tobacco (nicotine-containing) products.”
Following the meeting, the EEC Council agreed on the following provisions:
- determined lists of nicotine-containing and alcoholic products for which it was considered inappropriate to introduce labeling by means of identification within the EAEU;
- established the deadline for the application of uniform methods of cryptographic protection from January 1, 2023.
On May 19, 2021, the Decisions were published on the EAEU website.
