Uzbekistan will introduce additional categories of visas for certain groups of foreign citizens.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On additional measures to accelerate the development of tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan". The documents introduced new categories of visas for foreign citizens.

Natives of Uzbekistan and their family members may receive a Vatandosh visa. Student visa is issued to foreign students, who study in educational institutions in Uzbekistan.

Academic visa is issued to foreign persons, who intend to conduct research and teaching activities in Uzbekistan. Foreign citizens can get a Medical visa for treatment in Uzbekistan.

Pilgrim visa - a pilgrim visa issued for up to two months to foreign citizens at the request of subjects of tourist activities and the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers to study the cultural, historical, religious and spiritual heritage and traditions of Uzbekistan.

 

The head of Uzbekistan instructed within a month to take measures to introduce new categories of visas. These visas will not be electronic.
