Uzbekistan establishes a Council on International Rankings

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Decree “On improving the position of Uzbekistan in international ratings and indices” No.УП-6003 dated 2 June 2020 (the “Decree No.УП-6003”). A Republican Council, which will function in this direction, is being established.

The document provides for the establishment of a Republican Council for work with international ratings and indices. Its tasks include the analysis of the level of socio-economic and political-legal development of the country, the promotion of initiatives to improve the system of state power and administration, democratization of society, implementation of reforms.

The working bodies of the Council are the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Justice. One of the main criteria for evaluating the performance of the leaders of responsible government agencies is the improvement of the country's position in international ratings and indices.

The Ministry of Finance, together with other departments, has been instructed to launch the Unified Portal “The Republic of Uzbekistan in International Rankings” by 1 October 2020.
