Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabian energy company ACWA Power have signed agreements for the total amount of USD 2 billion. As the Ministry of Energy reports parties have signed an agreement on the purchase of electricity (PPA) for 25 years for the amount of USD 1,2 billion as a part of building a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,5 gigawatts in the Sirdarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Besides, an agreement on the building of wind power plant with a capacity of from 0,5 gigawatts to 1 gigawatt with the total amount of USD 1 billion in the Navoi region and memorandum of understanding on the development of training centre to improve technical skills of students were also signed between the parties.
