The Turkmen Parliament has ratified a number of international agreements and conventions

At the third session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the seventh convocation, a number of laws were adopted. These include laws on the ratification of two agreements on mutual promotion and protection of investments concluded at the government level between Turkmenistan and Qatar and between Turkmenistan and Hungary.

The main purpose of these bilateral agreements is to strengthen economic relations, create a legal framework for cooperation by securing guarantees of investors' rights to carry out investment activities.

In addition, laws were adopted on accession to two international conventions – the Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident and the Convention on Assistance in the Event of a Nuclear or Radiation Emergency. These documents are applied in the event of an accident, as a result of which a release of radioactive substances occurs or may occur, and which has led or may lead to an international transboundary release, which could have significance for another State from the point of view of radiation safety. In order to minimize the radiation consequences, the Participating States may provide notification or assistance in the event of nuclear accidents.

The Mejlis also approved the accession to the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy as an international organization.

The International Anti-Corruption Academy is currently one of the promising global initiatives in the field of combating corruption. Its founders are 53 states. The law adopted by the deputies determines the procedure for concluding, executing, amending and terminating international treaties.

An important document is also the law approved by the National Parliament on accession to the Main Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the Development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Corridor (TRACECA).

The adoption of this law is of great importance in providing the legal basis for the effective realization of the country's economic potential, the development of the transport sector of Turkmenistan.

Decisions were made on amendments and additions to some legislative acts of Turkmenistan, in particular the laws "On State Awards", "On the Court", the Customs Code, "On Currency regulation and currency control in foreign Economic relations", etc.
