The executive structure of the Cabinet of Ministers has changed in Uzbekistan

The President signed the Decree «On additional measures to improve the executive structure of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan» No. PP – 4569 dated January 22, 2020. Despite the fact that large-scale personnel changes were not made, the new Government will have a slightly different structure. Changes apply to individual posts and secretariats. In particular, the following are abolished:                                  

  • position of First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Transport;
  • position of Deputy Prime Minister for Social Development;
  • position of Adviser to the Prime Minister on the Development of the Fuel and Energy and Basic Industries;
  • Secretariat for Integrated Development of Territories, Communications and Defense Industry;
  • Secretariat for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations;
  • Secretariat for Social Development;
  • Secretariat for Development of Fuel and Energy and Basic Industries;
  • Secretariat for Development of Agricultural Engineering, Export Potential for Production of Fresh and Processed Fruit and Vegetable Products.

Furthermore, new posts and secretariats have been created in the executive structure of the Government:

  • First Deputy Prime Minister;
  • Deputy Prime Minister for Education and Health;
  • Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development;
  • Advisor to the Prime Minister on the Development of the Fuel and Energy and Chemical Industries;
  • Secretariat for public asset management, industrial development and competition;
  • Secretariat for Integrated Development of Territories, Communications, Construction and Housing, and Communal Services;
  • Secretariat for Investment, Export Support and Foreign Economic Relations;
  • Secretariat for Education and Health;
  • Secretariat for Development of Sports and Tourism;
  • Secretariat for Development of the Fuel and Energy, and Chemical Industries;
  • Secretariat for Development of Agricultural Engineering.
