Uzbekistan imposed sanctions for mining without a license

According to Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ZRU-603 dated January 22, 2020, the Code of Administrative Responsibility is amended by a new article on unlicensed mining. This rule provides for stricter liability measures. In accordance the new article, citizens shall be fined at the amount from 30 to 50 base calculation value [1] (hereinafter - BCV)[2], and officials - from 50 to 100 BCV[3].

The article also covers artisanal mining, except groundwater and minerals located in riverbeds. In the latter case, Article 70 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility is applied, which provides to a fine at the amount from 10 to 30 BCV[4] from citizens and at the amount from 30 to 50 BCV from officials.
