Registration of a trademark in Uzbekistan has been simplified

The corresponding application can be submitted using the new service on the Unified portal of interactive state services.

The service is provided to all persons in a semi-automatic mode. Its legal basis is the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 8 February, 2019 No.PP-4168 "On measures to improve public administration in the field of intellectual property."

After filing the applications for the registration of a trademark, the Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Uzbekistan posts information about these applications on its official website within 1 business day. 

Manufacturers, suppliers, sellers or their representatives, after the publication of applications, may submit written comments to the Agency on the applications for registration submitted in bad faith.

The exclusive right to a trademark arises from the date of its registration in the State Register of Trademarks with the obligatory publication of the information on a trademark registration on the Agency’s official website on the same day.
