New toll road section effective from September 1st
As of now a toll is charged on the Usharal-Dostyk section (between km 0+000 – km 123+000) of the public highway of category II in accordance with the Order No. 262 of the acting Minister of Transport of the RK dated August 13, 2025. The measure will affect logistics towards China and Alakol lake.
Syrym border crossing between Kazakhstan-Russia is closed
The border crossing is temporarily closed to passenger cars and public transport until the end of 2026. Freight traffic continues via an electronic queue, allowing 200 - 250 trucks per day.
Pilot project to simplify the primary registration of vehicles is being launched
Without the need to visit the Public Service Center in person, it will be possible to obtain a technical passport and state registration numbers.
Production in Kazakhstan is cheaper than in China
The average labor cost per vehicle in Kazakhstan is $394, compared to $597 in China, according to Oliver Wyman’s study for 2024. This puts the country among the potential global hubs for labor efficiency.
QazElastoPlast factory opens
On August 22, a factory for the production of automotive components and accessories opened in the Almaty region. QazElastoPlast has already signed its first off-take contract with Hyundai Auto Kazakhstan, a distributor belonging to Astana Motors.
Dealership Agreement is signed between Li Auto and Allur
Li Auto is officially entering the Kazakh market in partnership with Allur. The brand's first official dealership will open in Astana city, offering the three most popular models: Li L6, Li L7, and Li L9.
The largest Jetour dealership in the region
The largest Jetour dealership in the region has opened in Astana city. The facility, with an area of 3,038 square meters and a territory of 1.04 hectares, operates in a 3S format (Sales, Service, Spare parts).
