GRATA International Advises on USD 600 Million Financing for Solidcore Resources' New Gold-Processing Plant

GRATA International's Banking & Finance team advised the mandated lead arrangers and lenders on the Kazakh law aspects of a USD 600 million financing package made available to Solidcore Resources Plc and its subsidiary, Ertis Hydrometallurgical Plant LLC, as co-borrower, to fund the construction of a new gold-processing plant in Kazakhstan's Pavlodar Region.

The financing comprises a USD 300 million, 10-year facility provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, together with a USD 300 million syndicated facility provided by a syndicate of commercial banks consisting of ING, Société Générale and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, each contributing USD 100 million.

The transaction is one of the most significant financing deals in Kazakhstan's mining and metallurgy sector in recent years, reinforcing the country's efforts to expand domestic processing capacity and increase value-added production.

The Kazakh law aspects of the financing were led by Marina Kahiani (Partner) and Sakzhan Kanafin (Associate).

Congratulations to all parties on this landmark transaction
