197 million for the creation of 
agricultural complexes

The project “Development of the value chain infrastructure in the horticulture sector” involves the construction of agrology complexes for processing, sorting, packaging, storing and supplying fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products to consumers in Andijan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.

The total project cost is equivalent to USD244.75 million. Of these, USD 197 million is a loan from the Asian Development Bank, with which the state signed a loan agreement on May 4, 2019. The contribution of Uzbekistan is USD47.75 million in the form of tax and customs benefits and payment of financial costs in the investment period.

Goods, works, services and vehicles purchased through an ADB loan are exempted from customs payments (except for customs clearance fees) and VAT, and non-resident individuals involved in the project are exempt from personal income tax.
