GRATA International China Supports Future Lawyers

GRATA International China Supports Future Lawyers

Mrs. Gulnur Nurkeyeva, Managing Partner and Head of China Office at GRATA International, acted as a Moot Judge in Malaysia. This is a learning experience where students can take part in imitated real court debates on cases before commercial and arbitration courts. Along with Mrs. Gulnur Nurkeyeva, the judges were Tuan Atan Mustaffa Yussof Ahmad, Judge of the High Court of Malaysia, and Fred Chilton, Special Counsel at TOOMEY PEGG Lawyers from Australia.

The event was part of the ‘19th LAWASIA International Moot Competition’, an international competition organized on a regular basis by Law Asia, Asia's leading business law media company. Participation in the Moot helps law students to familiarize and deepen their knowledge in legal fields which are of utmost importance for an international career, learn how to carry out the necessary legal research to support the relevant arguments, present a legal argument in a manner which is clear, well organized, fluent, effective and persuasive, and gain confidence in themselves as future professionals. At the same time, it is a great way to create a network for a successful career. Law firms also benefit from recruiting talented young people from all over the world.

For Mrs. Gulnur Nurkeyeva, this is not the first experience of supporting future lawyers. Earlier this year, she participated as a Vis Moot arbitrator at one of the most prestigious institutions in this field - the Annual William C. vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
