Managing Partner
Narendra is the Managing Partner of NARA Law and heads the firm’s Intellectual Property & TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) Practice Group. He also co-leads the firm’s Corporate, Commercial and Capital Markets Practice Group.
Narendra has been in practice for more than 15 years and dedicated the majority of that time on various corporate and commercial deals, M&A, joint ventures, manpower, restructuring, regulatory compliance, licensing and dispute resolutions. His wide array of expertise includes end-to-end intellectual property (IP), cybersecurity, technology, media and telecommunications. He frequently represented the firm’s clients on a variety of contentious and non-contentious IP matters.
Apart from registration and transactional IP, Narendra is very experienced in IP disputes on copyright, trademarks, unfair competition and domain names. In addition, he has acted for high-profile clients on intricate IP strategies, from registration, commercial exploitation to enforcement of intellectual property rights in diverse industries, including managing thousands of software copyright infringement cases with many satisfactory results in the clients’ favour.
He also works regularly with local and foreign clients, private companies and domestic state-owned enterprises, on a broad range of transactional and advisory mandates and primarily advises on regulatory issues in aviation, construction, healthcare, mining, transportation, logistics, manufacturing and trading sectors. His key strengths are his deep knowledge and expertise of the legal, regulatory, cultural and business environment in Indonesia and his ability to act as a legal advisor for investors and clients overseas looking to do business in Indonesia, market their products or services in the country and/or collaborate with local partner(s) in doing so.
Prior to establishing NARA Law, Narendra was a Senior Associate at a prominent corporate law firm affiliated to one of the largest law firms in the world where he had a major role as the leading strategist in numerous sophisticated commercial disputes in the fields of banking, employment, transportation, anti-corruption, information-technology, entertainment, aviation, taxation, agriculture, construction, bankruptcy and suspension of debt payments.
Narendra’s strong background as a reputable all-around commercial litigator plays a critical role in safeguarding his clients’ interest and business objectives throughout the preparation and execution stages or phases of their businesses and transactions by equipping them with a crystal-clear perspective of a lawyer, the judges, and the regulator(s) to identify, manage, prevent and address the relevant legal risks and hurdles, potential disputes and non-compliance.
