His practice focuses on criminal and commercial litigation including dispute resolutions in banking, insurance, manufacturing, real estate, tourism and media sectors. He has represented well-established institutional clients and local conglomerates in a wide range of manpower, intellectual property, investment, commercial and shareholder disputes, which includes court-sanctioned bankruptcy and restructuring matters within the Indonesian bankruptcy framework.
One of his prominent cases includes having acted for a major Indonesian media company in a licensing-related dispute involving relational, contractual and multi-party issues. In the realm of insolvency law, he also acted for a notable local plantation company in its insolvency process where he was involved in the overall receivables verification stage, general foreclosure and sale of the client's assets, up to a multilayer debt settlement process with the creditors.
His exposure to the complexities of court-sanctioned debt restructuring proceedings in Indonesia was highlighted when he represented a domestic property developer in relation to its suspension of debt payment which involves hundreds of the client's customers as creditors which successfully resulted in the ratification by the judges of the Commercial Court on the reconciliation proposal and agreement (homologation) between the debtor and the concurrent creditors.
As a litigation lawyer equipped with a strong understanding of intellectual property regulations, particularly in trademark law, Rizki successfully assisted a large pharmaceutical corporation in a trademark infringement case which led to the issuance of several court orders that prevent the defendant from using the infringed trademark in its product distribution. He is also recently appointed by a UK-based investor to advise on a sensitive investment fraud case in the financial services sector that requires multi-stakeholder approach in defending the client's business from monetary and reputational damages arising from the fraud committed by the criminal suspects.
His clients value his strategic guidance, legal acumen, commercial awareness and commitment to achieving their objectives efficiently and cost effectively by also collaborating with internal stakeholders of his corporate clients in formulating legal arguments, defense and strategies to explore feasible options and scenario to settle the disputes amicably through mediation, before resorting to litigation or arbitration process.
