GRATA International Partner, Timur Berekmoinov, participated in the round table "On the Development of Forensic Examination of Intellectual Property Objects in the Republic of Kazakhstan" within the framework of SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. The event was organized by the Higher School of Law of Turan University, the "Research Institute of Law" of Turan University, and the Republican Chamber of Forensic Experts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Timur Berekmoinov spoke as Chairman of the Union of Patent Attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a report on proposed measures for the development of forensic examination of intellectual property objects, as well as on the problems of law enforcement practice in the protection of intellectual property objects. As noted by the GRATA International Partner in his speech, there is currently a need to eliminate contradictions between the methodologies of the Patent Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the methodology used by the Center for Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as to improve the qualifications of the Center for Forensic Examinations staff to conduct relevant research.
The conference discussed the prospects and plans for the development of forensic examination in Kazakhstan, as well as improving the methods for conducting examinations of IP objects.
