Interview with GRATA International Partner Yerzhan Yessimkhanov for Forbes Kazakhstan

Topic: “Which legal professions will disappear with the development of AI, and does Kazakhstan need a Digital Code?”

In an interview with Forbes Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Yessimkhanov, Partner at GRATA International, shared his perspective on how artificial intelligence is transforming the legal services market and why Kazakhstan is not yet ready to codify its digital legislation.

According to the expert, the first professions at risk are those based on routine and standardized document processing.

“Professions that don’t require deep analysis will disappear. For example, notarial work. Today, it’s already possible to finalize real estate or car purchases through banking applications - tasks that previously required visiting a notary,” — he explains.

Yerzhan Yessimkhanov also discussed the future of digital legislation and explained why maintaining regulatory flexibility is more important today than creating a separate Digital Code.
