Shahab is the Managing Partner of A&CO Law Firm, leading the firm’s strategic direction, operations, business development, and professional development. He also heads the Corporate Department, advising on complex commercial projects across construction, oil and gas, renewable energy, emerging technologies, land development, and F&B. His expertise includes FIDIC, cryptocurrency, and IT solutions. Shahab is also active in Alternative Dispute Resolution, managing settlement, mediation, and arbitration matters. He holds an LLB from the University of Liverpool. He is also a published author in Intellectual Property law examining originality, infringement and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
- Advised on and negotiated strategic a project for technology and cryptocurrency ventures at an investment value 26 million USD. This included advising on the master agreements, usufruct arrangements, and regulatory frameworks governing long-term commercial relationships.
- Led negotiations for an integrated tourism complex worth more than 50 million USD, resolving contractual disputes through a settlement and addendum that enabled works to resume and mitigated further commercial disruption.
- Managed a construction arbitration claim concerning extension of time and contractual penalties for a project valued over 6 million USD, preparing and presenting a comprehensive claim that resulted in a partial waiver of the imposed penalty and payment of outstanding amounts to the contractor.
- Providing ongoing legal counsel to a major F&B group in its expansion and operation of multiple high-end restaurants. This included advising on management and operational agreements, supplier disputes, leases, employment matters, and day-to-day commercial issues.
- Managed and represented a governmental company in the acquisition of a usufruct land at a value over 3 million USD by a leading private real estate developer.
- Managed and represented a major Oil & Gas group in its commercial recovery and outstanding claims from various customers and clients.
- Advised an Energy company in the assessment of release and termination of its sub-contract a Turkish solar panels provider in a governmental project, due to repeated delays in meeting project timelines
- Advised, reviewed, and assessed employee invention rights for a major Omani Oil & Gas company regarding a patented chemical formula developed to enhance production processes.
- Advised on the restructuring and acquisition of an Omani manufacturing facility which produces transformers worth 4 million USD. This included addressing related corporate, transactional, and contractual considerations.
- Advised a GCC company on the interpretation and enforcement of an arbitration clause, including the legal implications and available remedies.
- Advised a real estate developer in the release of a contract to develop land in a strategic area that includes commercial units and a gas station, due to default and breach of contract securing our client exit strategy from the project with minimal losses.
- Led and advised a governmental company in the installation of solar panels in local mosques project.
- Mediated a sensitive shareholder dispute concerning board conflicts and dividend distribution, facilitating a resolution that addressed competing interests and preserved the company’s ongoing operations.
- Provided strategic legal analysis concerning allegations of hidden defects arising from a company share sale, advising on potential liabilities and available recourse.
- Advised a digital solutions provider on compliance with Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law, conducting a comprehensive regulatory gap analysis and developing a practical compliance roadmap.
