Vladimir Komarov, Managing Partner at GRATA International, spoke at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

Vladimir Komarov served as an expert speaker at the session “Territory of Legal Trust: A Platform for Effective Business among the CIS, EAEU, SCO and BRICS Countries,” held as part of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

The discussion delineated the principal areas for the development of a sustainable legal framework for international business. Particular emphasis was placed on the potential of integration associations, including the EAEU, CIS, SCO and BRICS, to facilitate access to new markets, as well as on divergences between legal systems as a source of risk in cross-border transactions.

Special attention was devoted to instruments aimed at enhancing the predictability and transparency of the business environment, including the enforceability of agreements, including for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); the role of legal associations in fostering a space of legal trust; the establishment of public registers of bona fide market participants; and the development of harmonized approaches to due diligence, compliance and the evaluation of law firms.

In his remarks, Vladimir Komarov addressed practical mechanisms for mitigating legal risks and promoting standards of trust within the international business environment.
