GRATA International partner Pavel Balyuk held a webinar on protecting business interests in litigation

Pavel Balyuk, Partner at GRATA International and Head of the Real Estate Practice, conducted a webinar focusing on common tactics used to delay court proceedings and effective tools for countering procedural abuses.

Unjustified motions and challenges, repeated changes in legal positions, requests for court-appointed expert examinations, and the late submission of evidence are among the tactics employed by parties acting in bad faith. Such actions can significantly prolong litigation, increase legal costs, and create risks for the effective protection of business interests.

During the webinar, the expert discussed practical approaches to identifying and documenting signs of abuse of procedural rights, methods for effectively challenging unfair litigation tactics employed by opposing parties, and measures of procedural liability provided for by law.

Particular attention was paid to the legal consequences of abusing procedural rights and the mechanisms available to protect companies' interests when court proceedings are deliberately delayed.
