On 14 July 2026, the Embassy of France in Ankara hosted an official reception to celebrate French National Day (Bastille Day). The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, Turkish government institutions, international organizations, the business community and the legal profession.
Betül Arslan Aydın, Partner at GRATA International and Attorney at Law, attended the reception on behalf of the firm.
The evening highlighted the close cooperation between France and Türkiye across a number of strategic areas, including diplomacy, sustainable development and post-earthquake reconstruction. One of the key moments of the reception was the signing of a €400 million financing agreement between the French Development Agency (AFD), the World Bank, and Türkiye's General Directorate of Construction Affairs. The financing will support the construction of approximately 3,000 earthquake-resistant homes in rural areas affected by the February 2023 earthquakes, forming part of a broader programme expected to provide safe housing for around 6,000 families.

The reception also offered an opportunity for representatives of diplomatic missions, public institutions and the international business community to exchange views, strengthen professional relationships and discuss future cooperation.
GRATA International values participation in international events that foster dialogue, strengthen cross-border professional connections and contribute to the development of long-term partnerships.
