New Green SM electric taxi service launched in Almaty
Green SM officially launched its fully electric taxi service in Kazakhstan on June 23. Almaty became the company's first city of operation in Central Asia and the 6th international market for the brand, the company's press service reported.
At the initial stage, Green SM will operate in Almaty using VinFast VF 6 Eco cars. According to the company, the fully electric crossovers are designed for urban mobility and are equipped with modern safety systems.
New vehicles license plate color to appear in Kazakhstan
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law under which electric vehicles will receive a special state registration license plate. The corresponding provision was added to Article 70 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On road traffic".
The color and design of the license plate are not specified in the law itself - they will be determined by the Ministry of Internal Affairs through separate subordinate legal acts.
At the same time, the Ministry is guided by international practice, where license plates for electric vehicles have a green background, as in China, Norway, Canada, Poland, and Belarus.
GAC launched production in Kazakhstan
Chinese automotive brand GAC, which has been presented in the Kazakhstan market since 2023, joined Allur’s portfolio.
Allur became the official distributor of GAC in the country and launched production of GAC vehicles at the Allur plant in Kostanay, the company's press service reported.
Li Auto to begin production in Kazakhstan
Allur and Li Auto signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the city of Astana. The agreement provides for the launch of series production of Li Auto vehicles at the Allur plant in Kostanay, with localization and the development of its own component base.
