GRATA International to hold a seminar jointly with the CCI France–Kazakhstan

On May 14, 2026, GRATA International, jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France–Kazakhstan (CCIFK), will hold a seminar in Astana titled: “Joint Ventures Between Foreign and Local Businesses — Navigating Decision-Making and Conflict Resolution”. The seminar will be combined with a networking coffee session and will provide an excellent platform for professional communication and exchange of experience.

The session will highlight essential legal and practical dimensions of joint ventures in Kazakhstan, with a focus on how governance structures shape collaboration and potential disputes. Key themes include:

• Laying the Groundwork: Examining how joint venture structures, default voting rules, and decision-making frameworks influence cooperation and the risk of disagreements.
• Spotting the Challenges: Identifying recurring shareholder conflicts, deadlock scenarios, and governance gaps that can undermine stability.
• Exploring Safeguards and Balancing Interests: Reviewing practical mechanisms to prevent and resolve disputes, such as trust management, consortium agreements, shareholder options, and contractual safeguards. Considering dilution of shares and other equity-adjustment mechanisms as tools to manage ownership dynamics and mitigate conflict.
