
On 4 September 2026 in Atyrau, GRATA International held a business breakfast titled “Workplace Accidents in Kazakhstan: Employer Legal Risks, Investigation and Protection of the Company’s Interests.”
The speakers at the event were Zaira Sarsenova, Partner and Assel Gainedinova, Counsel of GRATA International.
During the business breakfast, participants discussed key aspects of the legal regulation of workplace accidents, employers’ obligations and interaction with public authorities, as well as the practical steps companies should take when a workplace accident occurs.
Particular attention was given to the organisation of investigations and preparation of the required documentation, interaction with state labour inspectors, the most common violations of occupational health and safety requirements, as well as the administrative, civil and criminal liability of employers and responsible officers. The speakers also addressed compensation for employees, litigation, challenging investigation results, and shared practical recommendations on how to minimise legal risks.
The event brought together 43 participants representing companies from various sectors of the economy.
